The tactical XCOM 2 is the follow-up to the highly praised 2012 game and like it’s predecessor is getting rave reviews. If you purchase XCOM 2 on Steam you can get a Steam Controller for 40% off, but it’s only for a limited time.
XCOM 2 is the sequel to the award-winning strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Twenty years have passed since humanity lost the war against the alien invaders, and a new world order now exists on Earth. After years of lurking in the shadows, XCOM forces must rise and eliminate the alien occupation.
With the upcoming Ghost Theory video game you won’t have to worry about getting a spiritual attachment. The game will feature many actual haunted locations where as the player you will have to unlock different clues.
The Kickstarter campaign is trying to raise $141,439 and is currently at $15,874, but you can help contribute. Developer Dreadlocks created last year’s Dex on a smaller budget, so this is definitely a much more ambitious project.
Ghost Theory is very different from other horror games. You will not shoot zombies or aliens, run and hide from murderous psychopaths, or follow a scripted, linear path. Instead, each location will be an open-ended haunted ground, with its own backstory for you to discover. But the more you explore and poke around, the more you risk angering the lingering spirits that roam the place.
Rather than physically try to kill you, ghosts will stalk and harass you, becoming more aggressive as you get closer to your objective. Manage your stress and find a way to banish or capture them before they literally scare you to death. You are free to take shortcuts or take your time to discover optional areas and secrets, gather data in the form of Ectoplasm samples or possessed objects, capture footage of ghost activity, etc.
