Shriekfest Announces its 2015 Opening Film 6:15!


Shriekfest Film Festival to Screen World Premiere of 6:15

The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 1

The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2015 lineup and is slated to screen the POV zombie horror film 6:15 on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m., starting the festival’s first night of feature films.

The film, written and directed by Ben Samuels, follows an emotionally damaged couple as they try to survive a viral outbreak on an isolated farm. The movie is notable for its immersive one-shot, real-time, point-of-view cinematographic style.

In addition to 6:15, Shriekfest will screen nine other features throughout the weekend, including the thrilling The Answer ( ; the technologically haunting Chatter ( ; the West Coast premiere of The Divine Tragedies ( , the story of two psychotic brothers; the world premiere of Hunting ( ; the West Coast premiere of the high school-themed horror film Clinger ( ; the supernatural-based Interior ( ; the L.A. premiere of the tension-filled Land Mine Goes Click ( ; the world premiere of the Granny of the Dead ( , executive produced by Sharknado director
Anthony C. Ferrante; and the terrifying All I Need ( . Many of the films will be followed by Q&As with the cast or filmmakers.

The festival will also showcase 35 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.

The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 1 – 4, 2015. An opening night party will take place at Boardners/Club Sinister in Hollywood; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Blvd.

Shriekfest, now in its 15th year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors, and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
