Lionsgate Films and WWE studios announced about a year ago that they were doing a remake of the 1993 film ‘Leprechaun’. The original film starred Warwick Davis as An evil, sadistic Leprechaun who goes on a killing rampage in search of his beloved pot of gold.
In a recent interview, WWE Studios President Michael Luisi announced his plan for the remake called “Leprechaun: Origins”. He explained that, “the tone is going to be a little darker.” ” “A little more traditional horror than the Warwick Davis ones that people remember. [We’re] trying to find a way to please fans of that genre but, at the same time, this is really being played for scares.”
WWE Star Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl is attached to play the title role although Luisi would like to include Davis who played in six ‘Leprechaun’ installments including “Leprechaun 2: Back to 2 tha Hood” and “Leprechaun 3”. The remake will not be connected to the original film.
